Today, we are thrilled to announce that we have expanded into the Houston region!

Davidson Homes has secured lots in several communities for first-time and move-up homebuyers and plans to begin building by July.

The entry into Houston continues Davidson Homes’ focused, organic expansion strategy of building in fast-growing, thriving communities that offer homebuyers an appealing quality of life. Texas is the fourth state we have entered during the past four years.

Davidson Homes currently owns or controls more than 8,000 lots in 62 communities in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

Davidson Homes has appointed veteran homebuilder Jim Rorison as division president to lead the company’s operations in Houston. Rorison has 35 years of homebuilding and finance experience, including two decades working in Houston. Rorison reports to Greg Duriez, chief operating officer for Davidson Homes.

“Texas is an important strategic growth market that will allow us to build on the incredibly strong foundation we have established,” said Adam Davidson, founder, president and CEO of Davidson Homes. “Texas and Houston have been on our radar for a while, but we needed the right person on our team. We found that person in Jim, who brings the highest level of experience and professionalism to our company. We are confident he will further our mission of providing quality homes to homebuyers in the Southeast.”

During his career, Rorison has been responsible for building, leading and guiding homebuilding teams and overseeing the development of communities in multiple markets in the U.S. He has led highly successful teams in both Fortune 500 organizations, as well as private equity-owned businesses. Before joining Davidson, he was president of a local homebuilder based in Houston. Rorison earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.

“Our company is coming off a record year of home closings and we are excited about continuing that momentum in 2021,” said Duriez. “Jim understands the nuances of the Houston market and his extensive homebuilding and property development expertise – combined with his experience as a chief financial officer – make him uniquely qualified to serve in this very important role for Davidson Homes.”

“Davidson Homes has an excellent reputation for providing tremendous value and superior, personalized service to home buyers,” said Rorison. “Adam and the team have built an incredible company and I look forward to growing the business, building extraordinary communities in Houston and being part of the driven, passionate team at Davidson Homes.”
